Put-In-Bay, Ohio

We went to Put-In-Bay, Ohio last week to do an engagement session for Kristin and Johnny. They are getting married December 2nd of this year. We had a great time hanging out with them and learning all of the cool things about the island. They were awesome hosts! On the way back, Sara and I decided to go to this tourist attraction called the african safari. It was hilarious. You drive through and all of the animals come right up to you. We had a giraffe, zebra, deer, cow and even a buffalo stick their heads right inside the car! Well, only the buffalo's snout fit in actually. It's like a drive through zoo! Only in america is there a drive through zoo..! Here are a few pictures of us being typical tourists.

Jamie and Steve

They were married on a gourgeous July afternoon. The nuptials took place on the grounds of Pine Knob at the lovely Carriage House. It is always a great day for me if a golf cart is invloved! Previews follow and their picture show can be viewed here.

Our Trip to Chicago!

We had a FANTASTIC time in the windy city over the weekend! I know most of you have probably been there, but for Sara and I, it was the first time we spent any significant time there. It was a blast. We did all of the typical touristy stuff like navy pier, a boat tour, ate chicago style pizza. My favorite part was going to the house of blues. I love blues music and it was a cool place to spend an evening with family and have a nice dinner. Unfourtanetly, they don't allow any pictures inside!! That was a bummer. For any of you soccer fans, we saw the Chelsea soccer team. that was kind of neat. They are an english premier league soccer club. Huge stars in their own country, ....but i didn't them from adam. I was wondering why these guys were signing soccer balls and then came to the obvious conclusion. Someone had to tell us who they were though. So here are a few of the pictures.

Orris Photography going to the windy city....

Not for good! Just for the weekend. We are going to be there thursday until Tuesday, in case you're trying to reach us. We are going to a Jimmy Buffett concert. There seems to be two camps when it comes to him. Either you love his music or you hate it. We're, of course, in the first group. It should be a fun weekend and the heat should FINALLY subside. I realized two things while reading our blog. One, that we have had A LOT of weddings on very hot days and, Two, that in the last month, we have had three brides named Jamie(e). The last Jamie's wedding not yet up. Just an oddity I thought i'd post. Well, it's pretty late and I should pack. I'll put up some pictures from our trip. Have a great weekend everybody!!! Duane and Sara

Jamiee and Andy

Jamiee and Andy were married in Milford, MI on an extraordinarily hot day. It was beautiful.. but really, really hot! My very favorite picture of the day occured because of the hot day. You'll see it below and figure out which one it is. (think cooling off) They are both such awesome people and so down to earth! It's no wonder they make such a great couple. Like their engagement session, we had a really tough time getting Jamiee to come out of her shell... not really. Andy had a great surprise for her at the alter, a beautiful ring that she didn't know was coming! Her reaction was priceless! The reception was gorgeous, which was no surprise since they (and all of their bridal party) run the place! It was a great day. I think that someone summed it up best on their signature board... they wrote.. "You guys are perfect". Previews are below and you can see their picture show here.

Ed and Anette

They were married in Ann Arbor on a hot day! The reception was at an old farmhouse which even had a petting zoo. Anette is Swedish and Ed is Korean, so it made for a really unique wedding. It was really cool to see two nationalities and to see how each celebrates a wedding. I even learned a few swedish words courtesy of Anette's family. So, to the two of you, I say Skoal!
Oh, and the goat at the end... i included the picture because i think his ears are hilarious!

Sarah and Paul

Their wedding took place on a bluff, overlooking Lake Michigan, in Stevensville, MI. (near St. Joesph's) Until their wedding day, we had never met Sarah or Paul, but almost instantly we knew that it was going to be an exciting day! I think we were laughing and joking with them about three minutes after our introduction. They live in Chicago, but Paul is from Ireland and it was great to meet his family. The day was gorgeous and the night was a blast! Paul's band played a few songs later in the evening, and it was a great evening all around. Previews follow and their picture show can be seen here.

Jamie and Jason

What a fun couple! Jamie and Jason were married in Auburn Hills, at Cobblestone Manor. Both of them are so easy to be around that after being there for five minutes, we felt like old friends. It was relatively warm, but it was definitely a beautiful day for their outdoor ceremony. Here are some previews:

Cathy and Keith

They were married in downtown Fenton. Unbelievably, Cathy got into a car accident and her car was totaled just a few hours before her wedding!! (btw, it wasn't her fault) Thankfully though, she was okay and could still meet Keith at the alter. They are really great couple and compliment each other so well. Keith took an internship at a music label, and now they are on their way out to L.A. I wish you guys the best!
Here are some previews of the day:
